Bill is a founding director in the firm. He has been practicing law in southern Maine for thirty-seven years, both as a member of the District Attorney's office and in private practice. Bill's practice is concentrated in the representation of individuals and local businesses. He is a member of the Maine and Cumberland County Bar Associations, the Maine Trial Lawyer's Association (former Secretary), and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Bill has enjoyed an extensive participation with State government and the City of Portland. As a lifelong resident of Portland, Bill has served in numerous civic and representative capacities, including nine years on the City Council and two terms as Mayor. Bill was instrumental in the development of the Portland Ice Arena and Hadlock Field, home of the Portland Sea Dogs, while the acting Mayor. He was a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in 1994, and prior to that, served as Chairman of the State's Select Committee for Judicial Appointments and on the Gubernatorial Transition Committee. Bill was elected to The Maine Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999, and now serves as general counsel to the Portland Sea Dogs.
Bill continues to live in the Portland area with his wife, Nancy. They have four adult sons. He is an avid golfer and member of the Portland Country Club. Bill also served six years as the President of the Eastern League of Professional Baseball.
